October Fun!

By Drew Doebelin

I hope everyone is ready for October fun! We have a few cool events happening this month ('Take Me Out To The Ball Game' and Crossroads Cowboy Church 'Wild West Day'), and we are getting closer to moving back into the museum. Woohoo!

Last week I did a lot of reorganizing of space. At the back of the research center's binder shelves is a table that has had a whole bunch of items stacked on top and underneath, and I had the urge to clean it. It was absolute chaos on Friday (sorry Tom), I took up the entirety of the conference room table! I'm fairly certain I looked a little crazy with my piles...

I helped label and organize some binders! Intern Ashley and I put an entire book into sleeves as well. Rush, Tom and I also organized a box of loose sleeves we found, there had to be clear over 50 sleeves.

Over the weekend I found some of the U.S.C.T soldiers from Callaway's widows pension records. One soldiers records had a document from one of his children requesting information about his service and name dropped a few other soldiers from the county! I hope to share more with you next week! :)
