I got to do my favorite activity this week! Cleaning mold!

I cleaned multiple desks and chairs, and the back of our cleaning space is looking more spacious with every item we move into the clean room! I even got to clean two more items with active mold on them. I know it probably sounds weird to say that I like cleaning mold, but it gives me time to look at all the really cool items from the museum up close, including this week's favorite, the Victrola Talking Machine! (Are you tired of hearing me say 'clean'?)

I also have been helping out on finding photos of country stores from the county, like the Wright Brothers Store and Cranes Store (now Cranes Museum & Shoppes), but for shops that have disappeared over the years, I haven't been able to find much. I hope when I keep looking this week I'll have a fresher set of eyes.

Speaking of this week, on the 5th I will be doing a mock presentation on the Civil War Colored Troops of Callaway, and I am very excited! I think one of the things I'm really grateful I get to experience with the society is breaking out of my comfort-zone in different ways. It's been a long time since I've done a presentation (in-person), so I hope I learn a lot from it!
